This site is dedicated to the great tastes of Asian food.

This site is run by Craig & Caroline Hind.  We live in Durban, South Africa.

We enjoy Asian food, but are by no means professional gourmets. The objective of these pages is to provide easy to medium recipes to other people who enjoy Asian food but have no idea where to start. We will provide the basics of what you will need to get started and how to prepare your meal.

The recipes that you will find on this site have all been tried and tested by us, and as you can see by the photos we’re clearly not professional chefs, but we hope that you will see that if we can make and compile these dishes then anyone can!

We draw a lot of our inspiration from chefs such as Ken Hom and Martin Yan.  This site probably would not have been started if it was not for their shows on TV that entrenched the love of Chinese cuisines.  With the influence of restaurants such as Wagamama, Din Tai Fung and others we extended our love of Asian foods to other cultures such as Japanese and Thai.

It should be noted that although some of the recipes on this site are originally sourced from cookery books, they have been modified to cater for food differences and tastes as some of the ingredients are not available in South Africa. The recipes are not exactly the same as the recipes in the books.  However if any of the authors recognise their content and feel that their copyright has been violated they are free to contact us, the recipe will either be further modified or removed.
